Our chairman for tonight, who performed exceptionally well for his first time in the chair, was Tim - great job Tim.
John gave us a toast about grandparents, and the special part they play in our lives.
Our word of the day from Chantel was 'Strategic'. Strategically, a few speakers did well to include this word throughout the meeting.
Tonight's Table Topics master was Anne, who challenged us to think about "Things, People and Places I have known & loved". Our best Table Topic came tonight from a welcome visitor, Jane Young! Well done Jane.
We had two great speeches tonight - so good in fact that we had a draw for Best Speech tonight!
Tony delivered a presentation from the Successful Clubs course on "Creating the Best Club Climate", and encouraged us to thing about how we serve each other, and make new members feel welcome. Tony's time was cut short, so did well to still deliver all his content!
James introduced us to the story of Aurora, an older aboriginal woman he had met during his time working in Tasmania. Aurora had clearly had a great impact on James' life and we enjoyed hearing about her. Thanks James.
We had great evaluations throughout the evening, with Glennis being voted the best Evaluator.
It was great to have Mark Shaw stepping straight back in to meeting roles as our Listening Post host tonight.
Congratulations to everyone for a fun, short meeting. We still managed to squeeze everything in before the club closed early for the public holiday. Thanks everyone!
