January 16th 2017 HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MEMBERS.

Tonight our 1st meeting for the New Year we had 7 members present plus our honary member Pat  . and  1 visitor Mark.

Mark had been to a meeting last year but didn't follow up .
His New Year resolution was to get back to us which he did and amazingly  he even made his maiden speech tonight before he was actually a member..
Mark made his "icebreaker" speech, told us a lot about himself and handled his 1st speech with us very well.
Mark was also awarded the  VERY coveted Chairman's award too for having the courage to do his 1st speech so soon.
In his own words he was feeling a little "Smug" about it.
Well done Mark, hope your time with us will be happy and a great help to your future career.

We had two other speakers tonight.
First cab off the rank tonight was Glennis who's speech title was
"I met my husband in the gutter" (wasn't as bad as it sounds).
It was a great title for a great little story
We are glad you met him  Glennis, hes a top bloke and you make a great couple..
Our  2nd Speaker tonight  was Tony who  told us he had given the eulogy at his Uncle Ces's funeral recently and performed the actual eulogy for us.
Uncle Ces sounded like a great bloke and the eulogy Tony put together  was very fitting for a very loved and admired old Uncle Ces.
Well done  Tony. I am sure Uncle Ces was very proud of you as you did his eulogy on the day .
The 3 speeches were of course,  as is usual,  followed by 3  helpful and positive evaluations. Chairman tonight was Tanya.

           WINNERS AND GRINNERS TONIGHT
The winner of best speech tonight was
MARK (with his  very impressive ice breaker)

Best evaluation ................
ANN, who was overheard saying she could wallpaper the house with her certificates, (now is that also being "SMUG" or what).

It was nice to see Tanya back with us after her nasty accident toward the end of 2016,  (Tanya now has a good excuse for her forgetfulness)...
Judging by the photos Tanya took a very bad knock to the brain.
Hope your soon sparking on all cylinders again Tanya .
It was also good to see Edith back with us after a couple of months absence while on a big trip, I am sure we will be hearing lots of stories about the trip this year.
Photos of tonights meeting are below.

Mark with the chairmans award.... (Is he looking Smug)
