Our Reguar Meeting 20/7/15

Tonight we had  another happy meeting with 12 members present as well as two guests.
Thankfully Tanya was back on deck  although not sparking on all cylinders yet and along with some help from the early birds had the room pretty much set up before most arrived.
We had a few valued members away tonight and they are always very missed.
We had a visit from Carol who is the president of her Toastmasters club (Wyong).
We also had the company of Pat ( Ann's Mum) who is often with us and always a very welcome guest.
                        *******************************************
Sam was our chairman tonight and did a fine job.
Ray did a very good educational talk tonight on "Mentoring" that was both informative and helpful to most of us I'm sure.
                                   Thanks Ray.!
The word tonight given by Tanya was "JUNKET", it was not used by many of us as it was a bit difficult to fit into any of our talks.
I think we were all reminded though of the lovely deserts our mums and grandmothers used to make more than the several other meaning of the word.
We had three speeches tonight and three very good evaluations followed.
  Speakers tonight were Judi
(who told us all about "Operation Christmas Child").
                                   Tony
( who gave us "The Tales of Beedle The Bard").
                                  Alan
( who told us all about the "Rebounder" he uses to exercise his body and mind).

Three varied and interesting Speeches were delivered and all were then well evaluated by     Jane, Aaron,  and Ann.

Our Round Robin tonight with the theme "Christmas in July" was changed a little to end up being a sort of police story, poor old Santa ended up being shot because someone thought he was a pedophile.
Oh dear these continuing stories have some funny and strange  twists and turns , there is a lot of imagination in a Toastmasters mind it seems !

Our Table Topics tonight was  run by our T/T Master,
President Stuart who had some interesting topics all with the theme of Christmas.
(please note,  no one was shot during the T/Topics segment)

Ray was in "Christmas mode" and gave a great Educational telling us about "Mentoring"
( BTW ..the word Junket had nothing to do with Mentoring) !

Edith, Best Table Topcs

Jane,  best Evaluation

Judi,  Best Speech

Aaron won Chairmans award

We are gearing up for our 25th Anniversary dinner, I hope you have booked in for that memorable occassion which will be held in the restaurant at Ourimbah RSL club.
Tanya has done a lot of work to make this a "special" night.  Thank you Tanya, we know you have worked hard on this....
We are also hoping to catch up with some past Toastmasters who are no longer members of Blue Gum Flat Toasties , (but were valued members in a past life).
Hopefully this night will be our 25th birthday celebration as well as some time to catch up with some old friends and familiar faces.

                      ******************************
                               Thought for the day..........
"It's better to eat a little humble Pie
Than to have NO pie at all."
