Regular meeting 15th August ....Presentation to Ray

Tonight Ray attended his very LAST meeting with us  before he leaves for life in a lovely retirement village in QLD.
We will miss him very much, Ray has been with Blue Gum Flat Toastmasters  club  ALMOST since its beginning and has become a very experienced speaker in that time and has endeared himself to us all. 
We wish Ray and his wife Christine well in their new chapter in life and hope they will be very happy on the Gold Coast where they will be joining family already there. 
Blue Gum Members  presented Ray with a special  award of thanks for  his  long service , time and support of our club.
                                  We will miss you Ray....

Tonight we had 11members and unfortunately a lot of apologies. 
Hope anyone sick is back on deck now . 
We enjoyed seeing Alan back with us after a lengthy time away on netball driving duties, it was nice to see you again Alan.........
Aaron was our chairman tonight and did a good job at it too. 
Ray gave a lovely Toast , thanking the many Toastmasters who had been his friends in the time he had been with us....
The theme tonight was "If you could be King or Queen for a week what would you like to do".
This varied greatly.... then when Tony did our table topics for the night he carried the theme on and all questions were very royal and in some cases quite funny....

We had  only two speakers tonight Edith and Tanya, they  both spoke very well, they were evaluated by Glennis and Alan who both delivered helpful and supportive evaluations.

DATES FOR THE DIARY
The 29th August is our Social dinner and the plan is to meet at the Ourimbah RSL in the Blue Gum Bistro about 6-30pm  and share some time and a meal together...

HELP REQUIRED
Blue Gum is hosting the AREA  Humorous Speech Competition
on Sat  3rd September, we hope you will be there to help host this meeting and to cheer on our contestants, Ann and Aaron.
We also need raffle prizes so if you can help out it would be very appreciated. If you donate a raffle prize can you wrap it in  clear cellophane so the prize can be viewed easily by raffle winners so they know what they are choosing....
