Regular meeting 17th April Easter Monday

Tonight as expected we had a lot of our members away and or sick.
This always happens on a long weekend Monday.
We only had 5 members present and of course our Hon member Pat was in attendance with Ann.
The meeting was a bit of a Pot Luck meeting with those present having to carry out several roles. Not long after the meeting opened a  (guest) a young man  named Matt, came galloping in.
He apologised for being late and introduced himself.
Would you believe it ? !!!!
He ended up making a speech, how brave was that.
Never been at a Toastmasters meeting before, never met any of us and he made a speech because we were very light on speakers.
Glennis was due to speak but was away sick and Tony was our only agenda speaker.
Matt made a great speech about a trip he had been on,    great body language and voice projection.
He won the award for BEST SPEECH.
Not bad for a visitor eh ?
Matt will be a really good Toastmaster if he continues with us and we sure hope he will.  We look forward to some more great speeches if tonights was any indication of what is to follow.
We later  leaned he is a farrier (3rd generation) .
So he might even give us a lucky horse shoe one day.

Matt, winner of Best Speech.......

Well done Mat, we hope you enjoyed our  little poorly attended meeting and will come back next month to check us out again.

We hope that our newest member  Karen is enjoying her trip and thank her for her greeting sent to us from Echuca and that Edith is also enjoying her trip.

We look forward to hearing some stories of your trips ladies .

       ********************************************
On a  very sad note I  have to report the passing of a beautiful lady and past member of our club Faye McLay.
Faye has been ill for a while now and sadly passed away  at 2-20am   on Easter Sunday morning.
Faye was a very loved member of our club for a number of years and we are very saddened to hear of her passing.
Some of us got to visit her in the past few weeks and some flowers and a card was delivered to he by Glennis on our behalf.
I visited Faye soon after she had received the flowers and card and she was very thrilled to think that we were all thinking of her.
Our sympathy, thought and prayers go out  to her family and to those friends who were very close to this lovely lady.
"We are so sorry for your loss"
Please try to remember the beautiful
gentle smile of Faye as shown in the photo below.
                                             And that
"Death is just the beginning , of the Life that is to come".
Rest in Peace Faye.   We are so sorry to lose you....
