Vale – Kathy Marvell
Kathy Marvell, a member of Toukley Toastmasters and Coastal Communicators in Eastern Division, passed away earlier this month. She was 82.
Recognised as a strong local Toastmasters supporter, Kathy joined our organisation in November 1994 and rose to achieve her Advanced Communicator Gold.
Outside of Toastmasters, Kathy received many accolades for her volunteer work, as recently as December in Wyong. She began volunteering in the 1960s at Concord Repatriation Hospital, spending time with patients providing company and support as they underwent kidney dialysis.

Kathy was integral in forming the Renal Association of NSW and has gone on to be a part of many other local groups including Legacy and Toukley Torchbearers, the fundraising arm of Legacy.
Despite her recognition, she remained humble, saying in December: "volunteering remains such a big part of my life, it keeps me busy and... gives me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds."
