Regular meeting 5th October 2015

Tonights meeting came  at the end of a very hot day BUT  we arrived to find  winter had returned. Many of us almost froze until Tanya turned the Air con off....looks like Tanya had yet another hot flush.
Tonight there were  11 members and two guests. 
 Guests were Pat and Lisa.
 It was a lovely surprise to see Lisa walk through the door. 
We know Lisa as she is the lovely wife of  (one time Blue Gum Flat Toastmasters  member,  Tom).
Hope you enjoyed the night Lisa.... We all enjoyed having you with us. 
In the absense of our president , past president Tanya stepped into the role of President.....
Aaron was our Chairman tonight and he did a nice job of chairing the meeting, well done Aaron.
Ann proposed The Toast (to Insurance Companies) Ann and Pat were made homeless by the big hail storm that hit their area in September and have had a lot of dealings with insurance companies.

The word by Edith was (PRESENT).
Table Topics tonight was by Jane, thanks Jane,

          Tony who got so carried away by his story
 (The Man From Ironbark) that he threw himself on the floor at one stage.
Christine, who told us about her beautiful garden 
(even had some lovely  flower and plant samples to share)
Stephen who told us about Extreme Laziness and how to get motivated.
(I must admit I went home and cleaned out my desk after hearing this speech).
All speeches were varied and interesting and were followed by three hopefully  helpful evaluations.

 NEWS
The area  humorous Speech contest was held on Sat  10th at Doyalson RSL (The Doylo) .
Ray represented us in fine fashion telling everyone about his failed effort in making a good home brew.
Unfortunately the competition was really strong and Ray did not bring home the trophy....
Good try Ray, well done. I guess you felt like a nice cold beer after that speech !
