Our regular meeting tonight was attended by 12 members and we had two guests Jerome 2nd Visit (we hope he might join our club ) and Pat.....Ann's Mum...
our almost honourary member.
There were 4 apologies from members, by the way we hope you are all OK and that if you are sick you will soon be with us again. We missed you...............
We arrived at the meeting room tonight and some of us thought we had arrived in antarctica, or at least that it was snowing outside. We discovered that Tanya had set the air con on a pretty low setting to cool and refresh the room Brrrrrr.
Someone soon turned the air con off before we all got pneumonia, Could Tanya be having hot flushes !!!!
Our meeting was chaired tonight by Christine who did her usual great job.
Tonight our meeting was a little different, which was a refreshing change with Aaron conducting a mini debate in place of
Table Topics.
This went well and everyone enjoyed it, thanks Aaron.
We found that among other things that were debated
Alan loves pet rocks, Judi doesnt.
Edith wanted to save the Panda's, Tony doesn't.
*****************
Our Speakers tonight were Edith, Tanya and Ann, all spoke well and entertained us with three interesting stories.
There has to be a winner and our winner of best speech tonight was Ann
The speeches were as usual followed by three good evaluations.
The best evaluation tonight went to
Christine.
Christines chairmans award went to a smiling
Stephen.
Stephen was also presented with his Competent Communicator Certificate and pin.
Can't believe Stephen is the same shy young man who joined us only a short time ago.
His confidence has blossomed and he has become a very confident speaker, secretary of our Exec committee and very valued member of our club, Stephen will go places in Toastmasters no doubt.
Well done Stephen !!!!!!
A cheeky grin from Stephen as he received the Chaimans award tonight |
Chris, Our Chairman tonight and also winning the best evaluation |
Ann won best speech with a great speech tonight. |
A beaming Stephen receiving his C/C award from an equally beaming President Stuart. |
The now very confident Stephen posing with his certificate
MR COOL |
During the mini debate we learned that Alan likes
"PET ROCKS"
one of his Pet rocks is pictued below,
apparently they don't eat much,
you don't have to take them for walks
and you can always throw them at noisy neighbours.
A rock named ALAN |
