Although this meeting on the 1st day of spring was reasonably well attended by our members, some are obviously still in hibernation.
We are still missing people who were very valued members of our Blue Gum Flat Toastmasters....
"You know who you are and we hope you will be able to get back to a meeting soon, we are missing you".....
Tonight we had 13 members and 2 visitors .
Pat is almost a member and comes along with Ann regularly, so we almost forget to count her as a visitor....
We also had a visit from Dominic ( Dom) he visited tonight and seemed to enjoy the meeting so we hope he will be like a boomerang and return. He says he will so that is good....
The theme tonight was "what wattle means to you" , varied responses to this were interesting, Stuart told us about Purple wattle which had us all scratching our heads until we realised he was referring to WATTYL paint that he had been splashing round the house...
Our Table Topics tonight took us back to Monte Cristo where people were asked what if anything they had experienced during their over night stay there.
This gave free reign to those who had a good imagination.
Some very interesting things happened to some people it seems.....
Hmmmm, sure makes you wonder.
Some of the more bizarre were .........
Aaron found a mysterious stash of potato salad behind the door in his room.
Several guests saw a tall man in a top hat with a gun...
Alan had to use the mans top hat to keep the rain off because
there was a drip in his room, ............ hmmmm.
Ann saw children playing marbles.....
(I'm just wondering who had lost their's )
David went sleepwalking (The Word for tonight) and scared the living daylights out of Christine and Glennis when he tried to get in their room.
He doesn't remember anything though ..... They all say that eh ?
Stephen slept with the sheet over his head all night, too scared to look.... Hmmmm
Don't think we will be returning to Monte Cristo too soon somehow.
Think we had better stay away from the place....
Mad things seem to happen there.....
John was Chairman tonight and there were 3 VERY good speeches delivered by Ray, Christine and Sam.
Congratulations Ray on your speech using the projector, well done.
All speeches tonight were excellent , well done everyone.
