BLUE GUM FLAT TOASTMASTERS CLUB
The Friendly Club.
WE are PROUD of our recognitions..... |
Tonight we were still down on numbers, we had only 12 members present and 2 guests. Pat and Dom.
Both John and Sam weren't well and gave apologies.
Hope your both feeling better soon, we missed you....
Our guest from last meeting , Dom returned to check us out a bit more and spoke tonight in our Round Robin and again in our Table Topics. Well done Dom....... Dom then went on to be given the Chairmans Award for doing so well and all this on only his 2nd visit with us....
Dom is already looking more relaxed and confident.
He is a uni student and wont be at our Social meeting at end of month because he will be back home in Port Macquarie with his family. We wish you well and hope to see you again at our 6th October meeting.
**************
Tonight Pat took part in our Table topics and was asked about her 1st Swim suit, Pat then told us she didn't ever have one. !!!!
Shock horror Pat, does this mean you skinny dipped. ?
(I used to Skinny dip too Pat, but now I chunky dunk....... oh well that's another story).......
Tonight Ann was chairman of our meeting and did a great job .
By the way the word CHAIRMAN is simply short for
Chair Manager .
So it is politically correct to call either male or female the CHAIRMAN. We do not have to say Chair Person.
********************************
Aaron is doing a great job in his role as Sargeant at Arms, he watches the clock and starts the meetings on time and calls us back from our tea/coffee break on time.
His jokes are appreciated too, keep up the good work Aaron

Our speakers tonight were Stuart with his ice breaker speech and it was great. He even opted for no lecturn and used no notes.
Well done Stuart.
**********************
Our 2nd speaker was Tanya , who told us the wonderful Henry Lawson story "The Loaded Dog", (always a very funny story as the imagination lets us see the big retriever dog running round with the bomb in its mouth trying to give it to someone, and the blokes trying to run away from it, and the dog thinking it is a great game and keeps on trying to give someone what he has found .
Well done Tanya, love that story and you read it well.
********************
Darren was to be our 3rd Speaker tonight but as time was running out he graciously stood aside , next time Darren !
We all look forward to your speeches.
