July 21 st CONTEST and Presentation Night

Tonight's regular meeting was also our Humorous Speech / Table Topics  contest and  the committee decided it would also be a   good time to make a couple of  special presentations .
Long time member Ray was presented with his  20 year membership certificate tonight..
It was all a special surprise  for him.
Some sneaky members had planned ahead and his wife Chris was smuggled in to the meeting to join him for his special presentation.  Our resident Cake maker , Glennis had made a special Cake and Tanya had produced a very lovely framed  certificate  .
Ray had a lovely surprise that was  made especially memorable by the fact that his wife was able to be there and share his moment.
Thank you to all those who made this such a lovely surprise for Ray.

Darren won the Humorous Speech contest

Table Topics Contestants Sam, Darren, Glennis with their participation certificates.

The 4 humorous speeches were all great and the eventual winner was DARREN . Speech title was I ' Love....Darren then told  us about "The Love Of His Life" his I'Phone.
Very funny speech  Darren, loved the way you took her to  the medical centre ( otherwise known as a Telstra Shop)  when she crashed and all you had to do was RE BOOT her.
There are a lot of blokes out there who would love to think it was that easy to fix such a  problem....

Well done Darren
All speeches were well delivered and funny. Ray came  in, in  2nd place for his speech titled "Yes Sir", some memories of his early days in the navy.
The Table Topics contest was won by 1st time contestant Sam. Congratulations Sam, Well Done
Sam in full flight.

Pat is a very valued friend of Blue Gum , Congratulations Pat, we all appreciate you very much.
Pat had a lovely surprise when presented with a special award certificate.

It was lovely to see Pauline back with us at the meeting,
Pauline was looking  good and though she doesn't get to be with us as often as we would like because of a few health issues, she does make it now and then and it is always lovely to see her....
Well done Pauline, thank you for making the effort....

                                   GOOD NEWS REPORT,
John's Surgeon has decided that he doesn't need to have the open heart surgery he was going to need, and that would keep him in recovery mode for a few months.
It seems a few lifestyle changes have helped the problem, great news John, keep up the good work.  John will hopefully be back at our meetings as from next meeting....

                                                  THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
We were born with two hands, one to help ourselves and the other to help others....
