Regular meting 18th April 2016

Tonights meeting  was attended by 12 members, we missed having Pat with us as our visitor but Ann said she had a better offer....!
Tonight we  had three speakers and then three very good evaluations . Ray was our chairman tonight Aaron gave us the "word" PROUD.
A good word because our speakers did us all PROUD tonight....
Jerome made his "Ice Breaker" speech tonight titled
"Drive to Drive" and what a speech it was, Jerome bared his heart and told us a lot about himself and about  his accident.
This young man is a  real inspiration, not just to us but to the world. He doesn't let anything stop him and has really been arround even more so  since his accident . He ended his speech with a great quote " he said " this is the end of my speech but by no means the end of my story"
I must add that this speech was delivered from the heart, this his very 1st speech and NO notes were used by Jerome.
Great speech Jerome , we look forward to hearing more speeches from you. Well done....
Edith told us about her trip to Gallipoli complete with photo's , Wow, another great story and it was great to hear about that trip.
Tanya told us about her learning to play lawn bowls, Tanya passed her bowls around for us to see etc and explained well, what they were about and the aim of the game etc.
This was another really interesting speech.

Another
  NEWS FLASH
Our long time member Ray announced tonight that he and his wife Chris would be moving to the Gold Coast in the near future.
That was a shock to us and something we didn't want to hear Ray.
Ray has been with Blue Gum since its beginning and we just dont want to lose him to QLD.
We do however, understand your reasons Ray, the family are there now and Ray and Chris will be buying into a Retirement Village  close to the family.
We hope this wont be happening TOO soon but when it does we will find it hard to say our goodbyes.
