REGULAR BLUE GUM FLAT MEETING 5th May.......

Our meeting tonight was pretty well attended given that old man winter had arrived and there was a lot of Brrrr in the air.

It was so nice  to see plenty of Toastmasters faces around the room.  There were 13 ( lucky for some) in attendance tonight and it was so lovely to see young Jane back with us.
Hope that means you will be joining us regularly Jane. !
Jane hadn't even walked in the door before we had given her a job for the meeting. (I kid you not) , someone said she was about to walk in the door so Jane fell into the role of General Evaluator as she slid through the door....
That is the sign of a very experienced , confident and valued member of our club....Well done Jane.

                            Moral of the story,
" Early birds might get the  worms,
but  those  late to Toastmasters get the jobs"

Mark chaired the meeting tonight very professionally.......

Tonight we had three excellent speeches, we heard from
                           Glennis, Sam and David.

Glennis delivered  a really great speech on how important it is to take a holiday break.
This speech was fantastic Glennis, we loved everything about it....

Sam told us some anecdotes about the police force.
I'm sure there are plenty more where these came from too, great stories Sam and very entertaining. Keep them coming....
This was another great speech by Sam who is becoming a very confident speaker who is going to go on to bigger and better things we feel.

David , did his ice breaker speech tonight and, "WOW" if it is any indication of what is to come , we are in for some top speeches from David.  Body language and gestures were great and he didn't appear to have any butterfly's  whirling around once he got going....Well done !

THREE great speeches, very entertaining and easy to listen to, well done all of you.

I am sure the winning vote was very close....
I'm sure it was really hard for everyone  to decide who would get their vote, you all did so well.
These three speakers were Evaluated by  Anne, Judi and Darren who all delivered helpful, kind, supportive  evaluations.....

Table Topics tonight was conducted by Darren with a novel idea that was well received by all...
Jane did a great  GENERAL EVALUATION and has lost none of her speaking ability , sparkle and charm during her time off.

A further note to Glennis's recent fitness suggestion published in the last BLOG
        got  me thinking .......

I did feel like my body had gotten totally out of shape,

so I got my doctor's permission to

join a fitness club and start exercising.

I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.

I bent, twisted, gyrated,

jumped up and down,

 and perspired for an hour.

But, by the time I got my leotards on,

 the class was

 over.
