Toastmasters club, "BLUE GUM FLAT" the friendly club: Regular Meeting May 6th and election of new committee.

Our first Meeting for MAY ( 6th) was NOT so well attended by members but we made up for the lack of members by having three visitors along to check us out.
Christine officiated over the election of officers (is that why some stayed away) ? for the coming year and did a great job, what a difference Toastmasters has made to the confidence of this lady.
She carried out the election with grace, poise and confidence....Well Done Christine......
Christine has worked on BLUE GUM FLAT committee for a lot of years now in various roles, however due to personal reasons she will now take a break from committee and we wish her all the best and offer our heartfelt thanks for the years you have given to the committee.
JOB WELL DONE CHRIS....!
We hope you enjoy being just a member of the club without responsabilities for awhile and have a nice break..... .

IS everyone wearing high heels or is Judi shrinking..?

The meeting was enjoyed by our members and also three visitors a father and son combination, (Sam and Stephen) who visited us last month too and have now decided to join us.
Welcome Sam and Stephen, we are thrilled to have you join us.).
Another young visitor who we hope will also join us was Mitch....He seemed to enjoy the meeting, we hope so anyway....
All visitors participated in our meeting and Stephen was voted "Best Table Topics", well done Stephen....It looks like you will be a natural at Toastmasters....
Due to our election there were only two speakers tonight, Judi and David, David gave a very enjoyable speech about WRESTLING, it was clever, funny and well delivered, he did cause Tanya some dissilusionment though when he told us that Wrestling was actually FAKE !
Judi gave an emotional talk about an old Uncle who went off to war in 1941 a young handsome man and who came home from Changi Prisoner of war camp a changed man in 1945.
Both delivered good speeches that were enjoyed by all.......

We hope to see more of our members at our next meeting
(20th May).

It isn't winter yet so please try and leave the comfort of home for just a few hours, we miss you when you don't come....

By the way would you please have a think about how you feel about our meetings starting at 7-15 rather than 7-30, we will be discussing this at our next meeting and need your input.

At present we seem very rushed to be out of the meeting room by 9-30, a condition of the club giving us a free meeting room and sometimes we are running over time...

So are wondering if a 7-15 start might be a good move so will need to discuss this with you, our members and see what you all think........
