30th July - Christmas in July meeting

Tonight saw an event that is one for the history books!  One very talented Toastmaster, Chantel Queenan, was award the trifecta: Best Speech, Best Evaluation and Best Table Topics.  No one can remember this happening before, so we shall submit this one to the Guiness Book of records!  Well done Chantel!

Thanks to Tony Miller for his summary of tonight's meeting

"Thank you all for being in attendance at our Christmas in July 5th week meeting. I write this to share with those of you whom were unable to attend and to the members in attendance to remember what a good meeting it was.

We welcomed Nicola back for her 2nd visit and as an extra bonus Nicola will be our newest member as she has decided to join.

Nicola brought he partner Max along to see what our club is all about. Max indicated that he enjoyed the speeches in particular.

Tim extended the family affair and brought his Mum, Rose and sister, Lizzie along to see if what Tim was going on about was true. I believe they found it to be true. Tim's performances as table topics and as a speaker were extremely well prepared and in particular his improvisation in his speech was great.

Sheryl delivered us a famous Christmas poem, very befitting.

Our first speaker, Chantel, delivered her speech "I am a pescatarian". Her presentation was very good considering the minimal time Chantel has been speaking.

Our timer, Katelin, a glutton for punishment timed the meeting for the second meeting in a row. Katelin managed to even squeeze in a table topic and undertake concise report.

Santa (alias Ric) joined us to deliver the secret Santa pressies that the gnomes had left.
Anne and Sheryl remembered to dress appropriately for the theme, well done ladies. It contributed very nicely.

Tonight for our club and one member was memorable night. The Best Table topic, Best speech and Best Evaluation was awarded to one toastmaster, Chantel. An outstanding effort as voted by you her peers."
