| John , Best Table Topics Tonight on the Eve of the Melbourne Cup the theme was The Melbourne Cup (dress for the races). WELL only 2 of the 5 members who turned up did just that...........!!!! |
maybe they came as barrier attendants ???

The visitor we had was very confused by it all I think.
When 2 members walk in wearing clothes fit to go to the races
(i.e. Business shirt and tie and another wears an outfit complete with a hat and the other 3 looked like they were going to a barbecue, any wonder our visitor Selin ( pronounced Celine) seemed rather confused.
The less said about the dress code the better I think..................!!
Except to say that the 2 that tried, felt totally stupid and wont dress to a theme again.
There were only 5 stalwarts tonight , one being our newest member James who recieved his membership badge tonight,
Congratulation James.
James also delivered a speech about going fishing that was very well done. (James became Hooked on Fishing once introduced to it )

| James received his membership badge tonight. John had to wear many different hats tonight S at Arms, Toastmaster , Laugh Master ,and General Evaluator. Aaron gave us the word "OPT" (very appropriate as so many had OPTED out tonight.) Speeches were light on tonight with so few members in attendance. James amd Judi were the only speakers and Tony gave us a short talk about Pathways. Best speech tonight Judi ( with a melbourne Cup themed speech) Best Table Topics John. Best Evaluation Tony Hope our visitor Selin enjoyed the night that due to lack of members was very low key and confused at times. Hope to see you all at the next meeting 20th Nov. Thought for today.
