where the "show must go on "

Speechcrafter Edith, (already doing well.)

Dom filled in membership papers. (Welcome back Dom.)

Our 20th April meeting was  almost a washout, we were in the midst of the "Perfect Storm" as the media called it.
I was not in attendance as it was my birthday and I was  staying warm and dry with a glass of bubbles instead.
(In hindsight I think I was wise).
I am told that due to the blackout the club asked our members to wrap up early and leave so the meeting came to a sudden halt.
Everyone there then had to get to the car park through pouring rain, cyclic  wind AND with NO traffic lights working to help them accross the road.
(In hindsight I KNOW I was wise to stay home in the warm).
Christine was able to let me have some photos of the evening via her phone. Scott was welcomed into our club as a member  Welcome Scott!
Sam was presented with his "Competent Communicator" certificate. Well done Sam !
See photos below sent from  Christine's phone.
Thanks Chris.
WELL DONE SAM

WELCOME SCOTT

Our meeting on  4th May was attended by  13 members,  1 speech crafter (Edith)  and one visitor (Dom),
a returning visitor back from up north now and I am  happy to report that  Dom  filled in his membership paper, he will soon be a Blue Gum Flat Toastmaster member.
Scott was our chairman tonight and did a fine job for his 1st time in the chairmans seat.
Speeches were made tonight  by  Scott, (yes he is learning to wear several hats at the same time), Scott did his ice breaker speech tonight  and Stephen was also a speaker tonight .
 Both made excellent speeches.

Due to lack of time no voting was done tonight and so there were no winners and Grinners to report on.

A big Blue Gum welcome to our  Speechcrafter (Edith)
as well as our soon to be member,  Dom , both pictured above .

Next meeting will be on the 18th May ,
same time ,
same place,
 please try to be there!

( Remember if your not there you WILL get talked about ).

A Humorous speech competition is
being planned for the 22nd June,
so please give that some thought also.
