Regular Meeting 20th October 2014

Tonight we had a nice meeting  with a few visitors to boot.
A young man named Giles visited tonight, we hope he enjoyed his visit, Dom returned to us after a short break away and is now intending to join our club, that is great news Dom. We look forward to watching you grow in confidence.
We also  had a  surprise visit from ex-member Chris. 
(who then won best Table Topics, proving he obviously hasn't lost his sense of humour.).
It was great to see Jane back with us tonight  and a little bird told me that Jane  and 2 others were seen enjoying a meal in the newly opened Blue Gum Flat  Bistro.
 Hope they all enjoyed the meal.  
Stuart was presented with his Membership Badge tonight, we hope your time with us will be long and enjoyable Stuart....
 Aaron wore 2 caps tonight and chaired the meeting as well as performed his regular duty of Sargeant at Arms. 
Well done Aaron, you did well.
 Just 2 speeches were delivered tonight but they were both excellent, it was a definate case of QUALITY not Quantity.
Tanya also gave another great educational tonight.
Good Evaluations were given for the speeches too.
                            Well Done Everyone....
We were later  given the dissapointing news  that Darren will not be renewing his membership with us but will be joining Ettalong T/Masters. . 
Darren has been a very valued member of our club and we are sad to be losing his friendship and his speaking talents.
Our loss will be Ettalongs gain, hope they appreciate what they are gaining. 
Thanks Darren for your friendship, your winning ways
(ie) your extreme talent as a speaker and your dedication and  loyalty to our club over the years. 
Wondering  now who will step up to the plate  and become the trophy winner for  Blue Gum and then go on and compete against Ettalongs new member,  who will no doubt be winning comps for them now....

We are genuinely  sorry to lose you Darren, but we understand your reason and  wish you all the best in your decision. 
         Please know you will be very  missed by us all  Darren....

Don't forget that Darren will be competing for Blue Gum Flat 
( for the last time) on Sat. as he  gives us his best shot in the Area contest with his great humorous speech ("I LOVE").
 It would be great if he has a good cheer squad in attendance.

ON THE SICK LIST
Please keep John in your thoughts
(and if you are that way inclined, also in your prayers),
 John has open heart surgery on Tuesday  28th October.
We all wish him well.........
John is also a very valued member of our club and we will miss him as he takes time out to recover from this surgery.

We wish you a successful result to this surgery John and a SPEEDY recovery, we look forward to hearing from you  and seeing you again in the new year....
