Regular Meeting April 21st

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A LOVELY EASTER.
  Didn't eat TOO many chocolates,
and were able to fit into your clothes by Tuesday....

Yes it was a  public holiday and that usually means a lot is happening for many of us ,  with family visits and or visitors  etc. This  meant our numbers were not high but some of us made it through a haze of chocolate...
There were only 3 apologies but a lot were missing in action....

The result was that  we were left with only one speaker Aaron....  so John thankfully stepped in and did  a 2nd part to his previous speech.
Thanks John for stepping up and speaking off the cuff so well.
Darrin had all the program changes done and dusted when suddenly Sam and Stephen arrived (apparently the Easter Bunny had held them up in the car park but it was OK cos Sam  apparently arrested him slapped some handcuffs on the little villian and took his chocolate's off him to teach him a lesson).
Nice work Sam and I am sure Stephen helped you out with the chocolates you took from him.....
That wascally wabbit gets up to a lot of mischief it seems....
Thankfully though, Sam and Stephen did arrive, just a little late   AND arrived none the worse for the encounter and were able to take their allocated meeting roles....
Several visitors were expected but didn't show,
(Maybe the Easter Bunny got them too, before Sam got him).

Anyway all in all we were able to have a meeting with 11 in attendance ....
Best Speech  went to Aaron,
Best Evaluation and Table Topics went to Darren.
Chairmans Award  was given to John for his Off the Cuff speech.

We now as a club  wish Dave all the best as he  takes some time off  from Toastmasters to  welcome his new baby (No 2) very soon and then have some time with the family ...

Baby no 2 is coming up for Dave....
We wish you and family all the best  and hope you will all have a happy time bonding with your new family member....
Hope you will get back with us as soon as possible and tell us all about the new baby.

Don't forget next month is elections if you would like to nomimate someone for a position OR want to nominate yourself to take on a position.....please make contact with Tanya or Alan .
Next meeting 5th May. 7-15 pm .

Hope to see a few old faces back with us soon,   along with the regular ones who have been holding the club together so well....

                                    Winners and Grinners.....

                                           Darren with 2 awards tonight....
Aaron Best Speech,  well done Aaron

                             John with Chairman's Award.

                                   Well done everyone.........................
    ************************************************

FOOTNOTE FOR THOSE over 50 yr old in our club who are
IN NEED OF SOME EXERCISE .......
This was kindly sent to me from our esteemed member of Blue Gum Flat  Toastmaster (Glennis). Thank you Glennis....

                                        EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 50
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.
With a 2 kg potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can, and then relax.
Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. Try to reach a full minute.
After a couple of weeks at this level, move up to 5 kg potato bags.
Then try 10 kg potato bags and eventually try to get to the point that you can lift a 20 kg potato bag in each hand
and hold your arms straight out for more than a full minute. (I'm currently at this level).
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.
