Our 1st Meeting in 2014

January 20th and our year started again.
We are still down in numbers (0nly 11 in attendance tonight ) but we  were very high in QUALITY.
Those members who are not attending are missing some excellent speeches given by some of our newest members.
Please come back soon, we are missing you, and you are missing some great moments that would make your heart swell....

Tanya did another (slick)  job ,  again wearing several hats  tonight,                            (did good Tanya.) !!!!!

Tonights speakers were STEPHEN,  ANN and ALAN, who  stepped in  at final call when one of our intended speakers was unable to be with us.
All gave good speeches but one stood out....
A very new member Stephen who is also a bit of a tech.  head gave us a  very (slick) speech tonight about the inner working of our personal computer                                   Just what goes on inside our computers was a real eye opener.  Thank you Stephen, for enlightening us and  let me just say that when Stephen got to explaining  the Mother Board to us  he almost  had us in  tears when he explained "that just like most mothers , the Mother Board keeps everything together and ticking along nicely".      Very sweet Stephen AND very true, what would any of us be without our "Mother Board" . ?  Well done Stephen, we are all very proud of how you are speaking so well and in such a short time.

Stephen in full flight....

                                                          Well done Stephen....

Ann and Alan also gave good speeches but as there can only be one winner Stephen took the best speech certificate home to add to his collectionof Blue Gum certificates....

Not to be outdone SAM took home the certificate for best Table Topics.

Sam won T/Topics, good one Sam....
(Sorry Sam my aperture obviously  isnt right)

Speaking of Table Topics another NEW-ish member GREG presented one of the best table topics we have ever had. Well done GREG... great idea and a lot of fun hearing our members tell us such lies about how they just loved living next door to Pubs, Cemetries, Police Stations, Car Racing Tracks, etc etc etc.... Lots of lies were told , we  could hear lie detectors going off all over Ourimbah, but some good laughs were also had while they tried to convince us just how lucky they were to be living next to these places....

Very funny Greg !!!! Very (slick)

Tonights Chairmans award went to Daniel who did a great job as our Ums and Ahs counter/ Grammarian.. Well Done Daniel. Very (slick) it is so great to see you blooming and losing those shy butterfly's you used to have........

                                                 Well done Daniel.....Looking (slick) too.
Aaron too is doing so well and tonight did a great job as our timer....

The best evaluation tonight went to Ray with a really great evaluation, some great P.F.Is and an all round great  (slick) evaluation  of Ann's speech....

Good on Ya Ray, well done....

The word for tonight was "SLICK" and it was used such a lot and in so many ways.... Good word Sam and good explaination of how it could be used....
The very BIG....  (slick) AWARD of the night went to a long time member ANN, tonight ANN was  presented with an
         Advanced Communicator "GOLD" certificate.....

                                                                 Well done ANN....

                                                  Thinking of you....
We are thinking of you John as you were unable to be with us tonight due to family illness. John's "Mother Board" hasn't been too well. We all hope to hear that Mother is going OK again  soon.
