                         THE BEAUTIFUL TROPHIES THAT WERE UP FOR GRABS



Feb 18th was our International Speech Contest ( evaluation and International Speech contest)
This was well attended by visitors and members from other Toastmasters Clubs but sadly  only 10 of our own Bluegum members turned up, a bit dissapointing really as this was an important event on our club calendar.
We really need to support these  events because  they are key events in our club , a lot of organisation goes into them  and we had asked for the larger room from the club as we had expected a better turn up....!!!! 
Hope if you were  sick you will soon be well....
The Program was well put together and organised by Glennis and Tracey, well done ladies ...................
We had judges from several Toastmasters clubs, namely 
 Diggers and Toukley and Wyong with  our own member Tanya also judging . 
Thank you Judges, you did a great job,  the competition was stiff and it must have been very hard to split the contestants.. 

Evaluation Contestants were 
Darren, Christine, Ann and Allan..
All did exellent evaluations.....
 Our target speaker was  Ronelle from Diggers Toast masters Club.
Thank you Ronelle,  your speech was well received and a lot of us thought it was a true story, 
 that surely shows how well your imagination is running Ronelle. ! Well Done....
The Evaluation was won by Christine with Darren runner up.... 
Good luck to you Christine  in the Area 44 contest, you did well.

The next step was the Speech contest and  three members contested this ,
 Christine , Darren and Alan. 
All Speeches were great Christine's speech title "Why is it so" reminded us of  Professor Sumner Miller. 

Darren's Speech title "Touched By An ANGEL" Darren's speech had us all very touched, lovely story Darren and quite emotional.... Your Aunt sounds like a lady we would all have enjoyed meeting....

To continue on with the emotional theme Alan's speech was titled "Then I Shed A Tear". A very emotional speech from you  too Alan . 
All speeches were excellent and I would not have liked to         be judging them. 
There does have to be a winner of course and the Winner was Darren , Alan was runner up.... well done Darren you got to take the trophy back home for another 6 months....Good luck in the area 44 contest.... If anyone missed out on getting their photo taken , sorry but  I was wearing 3  caps on the night Assistant timer, Counter, and official photographer....
