Blue Gum Flat Toastmasters Club Returns Home

On Monday 15th October Blue Gum returned home....Over 20 years ago the club was formed and met at Ourimbah RSL.
Tonight after a lot of years moving around trying to find a meeting place that we could afford we have returned to Ourimbah RSL because they have been community spirited and offered to support us .
Our club was named Blue Gum Flat because that was the original name of the Ourimbah/Lisarow area, so we are like boomerangs ( flying back)  or homing pidgeons, (RETURNING home)..
We had a really good 1st meeting at our new venue 22 attended  (counting both  members and guests) . Our current  area Gov. Olwyn  was in attendance , also a past area Gov. and member of our club  Pauline was a with us.
It was good to see Pauline back at the lecturn , looking well again  ( that trip to the barrier reef has done wonders for her ). Pauline  was carrying out the duties of General Evaluator.......
We had several visitors  from Wyong Toastmasters Club, it was good to see them there.
We also had 2 visitors who had never attended a Toastmasters meeting before Andrea ,who bravely came on her own and Daniel who came with Kylie, we all hope they both enjoyed the evening  with us,  (we hope to see them both again at our next meeting).
Hopefully they might even join Bluegum Toastmasters ?.
We also had a  good roll up of  our Blue Gum Flat  members .
It was good to see Alan back in our group, now that we have moved back to Ourimbah  and  almost to his doorstep so to speak.....
We are still missing some of our regular members ( please come back soon, we miss you) we hope you are well and that we will see you  at our new meeting place very  soon.
We send our best wishes to  ex- president Carol who is still having a  battle with illness,
we are thinking of you Carol......

                                            *****************************

At the moment the RSL  club suggests that all non- members just  sign in as visitors until Nov. when they will  hopefully join the club .
(We did assure the club that all of our members would join the club to support THEM as they were now supporting US) .   So please be prepared to do that in NOV.
The club are giving us a free meeting room , we only pay for tea/coffee and they are  going to include us in their monthly newsletter and place notices in the club and on their screens telling members that we are now meeting there.

Club membership is only $6.00 for the year, the year starts in Jan. so if you join in Nov. you get        14 months membership for your $6.00..
Once you are a member you will automatically get %10 off any meals or drinks  etc by showing your membership card when purchasing .
There is a good bistro and a good coffee shop area for those who choose to arrive early and have a meal or a drink or a coffee before our meeting starts.
Also a reminder that University students can join the Ourimbah RSL free of cost.
